New Job!!!

Today I was told that I am now an official Flowserve employee. Woo-hoo! Only 1 dollar raise after leaving the temp agency, but it's better than no raise at all. Plus all the benefits make up for it.

My dad is going to help me look for a car. No, he's not buying it. I am. With the help of my mom, I now know how to budget my finances. I'm pretty proud of myself.

What are all ya'll getting your mom for mother's day? If you have any amazing gift ideas, please send some my way.

Yesterday I bought my cat a hilarious cat toy. It's called the Loco-motion. It spins feathers around. I can set the timer to leave it on for up to two hours, but the directions suggested that you do not leave your cat alone with the toy. I also bought her a bungy thing to hang on the door. I bought these items because I worry about her being bored while i'm at work.

i can't wait to call my mom and tell her i got the job. big danny is trying to find the phone. i think it's burried in dan's bedroom.

I started the receptionist position in Benicia today. It's amazing. Everything I like in a job: middle-aged women, nerdy foreigners, business casual attire, coffee machines, and mobility. Oh yeah, good pay and health insurance helps too.

Now I can buy a night stand, dresser, and desk lamp.

Dan is watching The Hills again. Lauren Conrad is crying because she accidentally burned the gown she was supposed to wear to some ball. It's not fair that I'm not allowed to watch Gossip Girl.

It has been a very long time.

What has happened since I last posted?

January:
-Worked for Manpower Inc. at ABBOTT Nutrition
-Turned 24
-Had a birthday party at Ed's (kitty cat theme)
-Celebrated my birthday again at Cody's during the League of Beard Enthusiasts party
-Learned how to make amazing vegan carrot cake
February:
-Dan bought me Alberto Vargas: Works from the Max Vargas Collection. Swoon.
March:
-Worked for Manpower Inc. at ABBOTT Nutrition
-Helped Jerovi remodel the house
-Attended the banana party at Cody's for Dan Shaw's birthday
-Partied too hard on Easter

That's about all I can think of at the moment.

Since becoming vegan, I have lost fifteen pounds. I started at 165lbs, and I am now 150lbs. Sweet, huh?

Saturday morning estate sales

So i finally have a just cause for putting "saturday morning estate sales" under my interests in the user info section.

Tomorrow morning Jenna and I are going to rise early and get breakfast. Then we're off for some serious bargain hunting. I'm really excited. Every time Jenna and I go out it's fun. I don't feel awkward or reserved when i'm with her.

We're going to film something amazing and I can't wait.

Hopefully tomorrow we will produce more artwork as well. I will have to pick and choose what gets posted here.

I haven't seen anyone all week due to my new schedule. Work is going very well and i'm happy to have a routine again. I appreciate weekends and friends much more.

I finally got a job. It starts tomorrow. I'm kind of worried about getting back into a regular routine.

Jenna and Emily came over yesterday and watched a movie with dan, john, and i. I drew something that i'm actually happy with. I will post it tomorrow.

I am on a two hour break from my Manpower interview. I took three assessments. I scored proficient in Outlook and Excel, and master in Word. I was disappointed with my Outlook score because I used it so frequently when working for Qualcomm. On a sillier note, I have never used Excel. I checked out one tutorial online yesterday evening, and didn't gather much from it. On my way to lunch my recruiter told me that she was excited and pleased with my scores. It kind of made my day. I purchased a soy chai from starbucks on the way to my parents' house. I'm gettin' back into the job groove.

Today I met with my psychiatrist for the first time in over a year. He admitted to once thinking that I was, "...quite a sick cookie." The good news is that he saw an entirely different person sitting before him. I myself felt eerie sitting in the same chair that I had previously sat upon once per week. I began to recall our earlier encounters. I used to find it difficult to focus on what he was saying. I would ask him to repeat his sentences numerous times before his words became audible. The greatest thrill was when he insinuated that I wouldn't be needing help finding my way back to the lobby. It used to be a very embarrassing farewell. Today I walked out of his office without hesitation or fear.

I stopped taking one out of the two medications prescribed to me by this doctor in August of '06. I can hardly remember the person that needed them to survive.

Today I went youtube crazy. I couldn't stop downloading videos from my childhood. It lasted from 12:30 to 3:00.

After cleaning myself up a bit I decided that I desperately needed to get out of the house. I decided to take Dan out to a restaurant called A Slice Of Life in Sebastopol. On the drive there Dan and I noticed that it smelled woodsy. I told him that I would like to live where it smells woodsy over 80% of the time.

Dan had a slice of pizza with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes. I had a breakfast burrito in a spinach wrap with scrambled tofu, onions, soy cheese, rice, and avocado. Topped with salsa. To drink Dan had apple/ginger/carrot juice and I had green tea. I wish I had a camera to capture our date. Since I didn't, I thought I should document it here.

After we ate we walked around a little bit and I saw some toy stores that I might go back to for my niece, Eva. On our way to the car I made Dan whistle "Whistle While You Work," and "When You Wish Upon A Star." He is a very talented whistler. We noticed when approaching my car that the area smelled very woodsy. I think my choices are Mendocino, Sebastopol, and Oregon.
